Job Summary: Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Associate will be a part of a growing team of fundraisers that support EBSC’s expanding programs. This position is responsible for the overall usage of our CRM (Raiser’s Edge NXT), data structure, quality control, data retrieval, report customization and analysis, and policies and procedures. Additionally, this role works with the Executive Director with administrative support and serves as liaison to the Board of Directors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Responsible for quality control of data and ensures that all information is appropriately and accurately categorized by fund, campaign, and appeal.

  • Maintain overall database integrity and quality, including routine data improvement, data auditing, practice enforcement, systems checks, and database functions.

  • Work with the Development team and database consultant to establish and maintain best practices and procedures

  • In partnership with the Associate Director of Individual Giving, manages donor profiles and stewardship plans to ensure timely communication for front-line fundraising efforts

  • Manage records and donor relations for monthly donor and other pledge programs.

  • Import and export data from various sources including manual entry.

  • Oversee and assist with gift processing, batch entry, donation coding, prepare back-up gift documentation, approve matching and employee contribution campaign gifts, and make adjustments.

  • Ensure third-party donations are appropriately and efficiently processed, stewarded, and entered into the database.

  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports for accurate reconciliation with Finance Department.

  • Provide staff training, support, and feedback on data entry and reporting for all database users, as appropriate.

  • Support event registration, donations, and sponsorships by managing the RE events module.

  • Ensuring policy and procedure documentation is current and implemented.

  • Assist with gift prioritization processing and acknowledgments.

  • In partnership with the Institutional Giving Associate, track grant reporting deadlines and support Development team members in submitting those reports in a timely manner.

  • Develop and maintain queries/exports for direct appeals, email campaigns, events, and ad hoc projects.

  • Assess and implement other technology-based solutions for fundraising, marketing, and communications and providing fundraising-related webpages.

  • Identify opportunities for systems integration for improved data quality, reduced data entry, and increased cross-departmental collaboration.

  • Establish and codify database best practices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Executive and Board Support

  • Manages calendar and schedules meetings/calls with larger groups/teams.

  • Schedules and coordinates Board meetings (6-8 per year).

  • Organizes and distributes materials for board meetings.

  • Tracks board giving and “getting” annually.

  • Experience with Raiser's Edge NXT or similar donor software database system or general data entry experience with systems such as Salesforce (REQUIRED)

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced office environment

  • Expertise in MS Office and Google Workspace products, esp. Excel, and excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and clients with a diversity of lived experiences

  • Ability to interpret, report, and use data

  • Ability to work independently

  • Team-oriented

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years or more related experience preferably in development/fundraising or a comparable combination of education and experience.

Compensation and Benefits

East Boston Social Centers is committed to providing competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with the professional qualifications and responsibilities of its staff. The target hiring salary range for this role is $60,000 to $65,000 annually commensurate with experience and education.
