Katherine White

Director of Every Child Shines

As the Director of Every Child Shines, Katie works with a rich array of partners and community members to advance strategies and actions to ensure all children can enter kindergarten joyful, thriving, and ready to learn.   

Katie comes from a background of working with families experiencing homelessness and piloting and scaling academic achievement gap programs in multiple school districts. This further fueled a fierce commitment to ensure that all children can thrive in school and beyond. While working at the Old Colony YMCA, she grew to deeply appreciate partnership development work as one of the most effective ways to maximize impact.  Katie also served as a consultant with social service and health nonprofits helping them with strategic planning, communications, and board and donor engagement. Fun fact, Katie taught in an English language emersion preschool in Istanbul, Turkey for a year before beginning graduate school. Katie received her Bachelor's degree from Boston College and both an MBA and MA in Sustainable International Development from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management. She also studied in Spain, Turkey, and Brazil and speaks Spanish, Turkish, and Portuguese.  She is grateful to work at an organization that recognizes the strength and power in community.
